Even if there's no NBA season, it's not like TNT and ESPn are going to throw down their gauntlets and free Boxing from oppression. The networks are about money and how many views they can generate. The sad reality is Boxing only has barely a handful of guys you can call "Stars" that would drive people to watch Boxing on TNT. Besides, the matches themselves still have to be made and dealing with Networks isn't going to be as easy as working with HBO or Showtime where there's an actual budget and producers for Boxing telecasts.

Hopefully the networks will fill the space with boxing. But with our luck the will make up more reality shows that nobody would watch.

Dan Rafael and a few others, including Pacquiao's publicist mentioned this a few weeks ago as a possibility but nothing ever came of it. Maybe everyone is just waiting on the outcome of the negotiations before making any commitments.
