The numbers-crunchers fear Juan Manuel Marquez’s second welterweight fight will mirror his disappointing debut in that division.

Didn't read, but of course he will be better in his second time fighting there. Because he's fighting Manny.

and yet people still cry that Ricky Fatton wasn't at his best in the WW division even though he had actually won a fight there before. There is a reason JMM was demanded to fight 2 weight classes above his own. Floyd, 2 years ago showed everyone. Nothing more can be said other than at least JMM got 2 big pay days fighting at WW.

The number crunchers are right this time. Marquez is now 2 years older & 2 more wars removed from the fight with Floyd & a gimme against some guy. If Marquez is competitive with Pacman it's only because of 1 of 2 things. Either because Manny himself is aging, or he's just not as good as Floyd, period. Other than that, this fight is a joke & Manny should steamroll Marquez at welterweight.

Sorry - JMM is one of my all time fave's but there is no way he can win this fight. He's old, war torn and fighting at a weight where he has no business whatsoever. Pacman is a monster, one of a kind, has gotten much better with time, too smart, too strong, too fast. JMM will last a few rounds if that.

Trust me - For Marquez is not only the money (unlike chicken Floyd) - Marquez is a true definition of the war "Warrior". He will fight to death if he has to! True boxers are not only motivated by money.
