Am I the only one who has problem with Rios vs Gamboa?

Seriously, am I the only one that sees how ridiculous this fight is?

Seriously, Gamboa is a 5'5 SMALL career 126lb fighter. He is already filled out, and doesn't have the kind of frame that will take extra weight well.

Rios is a HUGE career 5'9 135lb fighter, who comes into the right at 150+ lbs, and will likely end up at 140-147 sooner rather than later.

For this fight, Gamboa would have to move up TWO weight classes, to fight a guy who is for all intents and purposes THREE weight classes, and 4 inches bigger than him.

Why? Seriously, why is this fight even being talked about? It is RIDICULOUS...

Gamboa started his career at 130lbs plus Gamboas speed from the featherweight division should give Rios some problems.

I'm going to be honest like I usually am, I do not like Gamboa, he's just too ****y for my liking & I welcome Rios beating his a$$ at 135.

Gamboa's outgrowing 126 and moving to 130, he's young and will end up at lightweight at some point anyway, and it's a great move because of the amount of people that would not hold a loss against him because of the weight jump. Not to mention Gamboa is maybe the most gifted fighter in the sport and his only concern against Rios would be size. He holds every other advantage.

It's a ballsy move if it happens, and one Gamboa should make. It's win-win.

Too bad you don't bet, because Rios also has the power & chin advantage, not just size like you claimed in your 1st post.

Maybe I'd bet on this fight if it comes off. Big Gamboa fan and I love this fight for him.

Power and chin comes with the size advantage, that's why I didn't mention it.

I agree, it's not a matchup that makes any sense to me. Rios should and likely will be fighting at 140. Gamboa really shouldn't be any higher than 130. He's 5'5 with short arms.

Now, Eaner pointed out this is all probably part of the Manny Pacquiao sweepstakes and when you think of it in that sense, being that Gamboa DOES want Pacquiao (he called him out after his last fight) and so does Rios, it makes a little more sense.
