Glasgow's Willie Limond is targeting a history-making world title showdown against Ricky Burns.

Burns became Scotland's first two-weight world champion in nearly twenty years when he beat Australian great Michael Katsidis to capture the Interim WBO World title at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.

Limond takes on British Lightweight Champion Anthony Crolla on Friday 25th November at the Ravenscraig Centre in Motherwell, live on BoxNation (Sky Platform Ch. 456), but has an eye on facing Burns after.

It would be the first time two Scottish fighters have fought for a world title.

Burns is only an interm champion, i dont think he can ca himself a 2 weight champion just yet.....

agree. . . i highly doubt marquez will both entertaining a fight with somebody like burns. . . marquez is just above that level now - if he continues fighting it will probably be at 140 for bigger names and bigger money than what he can get with burns. . . So once marquez vacates he can call himself two-weight champ. . . there have been MANY other champs who have gotten their belts in worse ways. . .

but for the limond fight - PLEASE NO! fight meaningful fights. . . I'd love to see him snatch that IBF belt off of Miguel Vazquez. . . STAY AWAY FROM RIOS, THOUGH!

I like Burns because basically ya boy is a better looking version of him. . . We are both built almost IDENTICAL. . . tall, wide backs (for our size), SINEWY, long arms, cut up. . . only difference is I'm a few inches taller and I have what you call "soccer legs". . . WE ARE BOTH built like PROTOTYPICAL BOXERS! Strong jab and straight right hand!! WAR BURNS!!!
