You can hate chocolate, but can't deny he exists!
I never denied being Peter "The Kid Chocolate" Quillin's #1 fan. I've been around since before the beginning of his pro career. I laugh at people like UglyPug that hate without reason. Was this fight stopped prematurely? WITHOUT A DOUBT! But to say that McEwan was winning or going to win; ABSOLUTELY bananas.
I posted before the fight that Quillin's accuracy and power would be the determining factor. Quillin shut McEwan's eye in the 1st round. At a house party with 30 people cheering on The Kid Chocolate, I picked a 6th round KO. Too bad it was a TKO.
The ref stepped in and stopped it too soon. But watching the replay of the fight, Quillin almost took off McEwan's head with a left hook, right hook, right hook 3 punch combo to the dome. I agree with Max Kellerman that McEwan was defenseless and in another second or two Petey could say "TIMBER!"
And for the genius mentioning headbutts, if you review the 4th round, Jim Lampley and Roy Jones Jr. commentate on them. Craig McEwan kept leaning in with his head. Jim asked Roy when reviewing the replays, "These are accidental, right Roy?" and Roy quickly replies; "Yes, they are." Jim ends it with "So McEwan's getting the worst of it in the inevitable collisions that take place between a conventional fighter and a south paw."
You're simply ignorant of boxing and ignorance breeds fear and hatred! You can hate Chocolate, but can't deny he exists!
