Andre Ward in my opinion, he doesn't have 'highlight material type defense, but his defense is very very good.

The thing is I never take any of these statistics seriously, but they probably got that one right. Ward is definitely second to Floyd in defense. A couple of years ago I would have said Hopkins, but Hopkins' reflexes aren't the same, Pascal touched him a lot more than I'm used to seeing.

I know for sure that Floyd Mayweather is number one in this category, but I'm not sure what everyone else thinks as far as number 2.....

            My pick is Wladamir Klitscko....

Many consider a good jab a good defense....well he may very well have the best jab in boxing... but I'm no expert....

Who do you say has the 2nd best defense?
I would say that you were right about Klitschko having the second best defence, but Mayweather doesn't have the nest, he would be third. I pick that guy McClosky for the best defence. That is, if what I saw uin his recent fight was his usual, it was the firsr time I'd seen him.He is the most awkward and difficult fighter I've seen in years. He has the old timers' knack of just moving his head a fraction of an inch and missing a punch, and is constantly on the move, with body and foot feinting, every solitary second. I was much impressed.

I'd say it's a tossup between Vitali and Ward.

I seldom see Ward getting hit, much less hit clean. He's got everything, the head movement on the inside, the footwork, and the craft(his head). And Vitali not only uses his jab to keep his opponents off, but he also uses the ring very well, and is very crafty with positioning his hands after missing a punch, leaving no room to counter.

For me it's a close toss up between Pac and Ward. They have different kind of defense. Pac moves a lot and dodges when he wants to but also lets opponents hit him so they commit and he can hit them hard. Ward is more technical and doesnt like sacrificing to put opponents down. So it's between them.

                      Moreno is my pick.

For the guy who said McCloskey, Prescott was able to catch and stun him, and Prescott isnt exsactly a great fighter so even though Paul's defecne is good, his level of competition and most recent fight suggest to me that he shouldnt even be mentioned as having a great defence (to the level where he can be named as one of the best among active fighters. Although tbf he had a off night against Prescott, he's usually harder to hit than that). And Im probably one of the only people on this board who has spent money to watch him fight on more than one occasion lol
