Bika and Andrade were contenders when he fought them.Top 10.Fringe contenders were somebody like Magee or Miranda.
And while he did fight obviously better oppsition Froch did lose by a har to Keesler and lost pretty clealry to Dirrell.
Ward only has the Kessler win which makes his resume better.Comment

When Froch fought Magee he wasnt world champion he was fighting at domestic level. Magee was like 31 when he fought Froch not 36 like when he fought Bute.
Froch injured his hand earlier in the fight and so had to be careful with it. Froch was a lazy, careless fighter back in his domestic days and usually relied on his power. Magee was allowed to hold constantly during the fight. Froch knocked Magee unconcious.
When Froch fought Johnson he had to fight away from home in a different continent. Froch didnt have the advantage of sparring Johnson for 96 rounds like Bute did. Froch isnt a fast pure boxer like Bute is but is tough and takes risks where as Bute is cautious. That 114-114 scorecard was a joke, even Johnson new he clearly lost.
Im not a fan of Ward and havnt seen many of his fights but from what i have seen of Ward he is fast, intelligent, crafty, strong, very adaptive but is dirty and lacks power. It doesnt surprise me that Bute looks better than Ward against a common opponent.
None of this really matters though. Bute, Froch and Ward will soon fight and we should then know who is the best at 168.Comment

You owe me 500K.
Topic: Bute should have had a loss on his record as Kessler's leftover Andrade had Bute totally out on his feet. Only a miracle prevented a fatality/disaster. Other than Bute looks really good hammering those clubfighters and it'll be interesting how he fares when he steps up tp face the elite in Ward/Kessler/Froch.Comment
