You guys act like Floyd himself called Morales to make the fight. Golden Boy is just compiling a list of opponents along with different figures to present to Floyd. Just like in years past they presented Floyd with a list of fighters that included guys like Mathew Hatton, Paul Spadafora, Paulie Malignaggi, etc. Did Floyd sign off on those fights? Of course not. And I can guarantee he won't sign off on this. I will make a youtube video of me eating my own hat if this fight ever gets seriously considered. I am almost positive that Floyd will be fighting Sergio Martinez that day.

this rumor didn't start from arum. apparently morales was interviewed by the mexican media and he confirmed that indeed he was offered to fight floyd on may 2012. steve kim tweeted it even before arum said it.

It is always about the money for Floyd these days, not the biggest challenge. He will be fighting a mexican fighter on Cinco de Mayo, maybe Morales, maybe Canelo. But definitely not Paq.
