Maidana's fight with Morales was a FOY candidate while Khan's last two fights were some of the most boring I've seen this year. I repeat, boxing fans do not care what a Maidana rematch does for your resume. We want to see exciting fights and a Maidana rematch will deliver. So far, Maidana has been the only guy in recent years to give Khan any trouble. And since it was FOY, it deserves a repeat.
Unless you fight Mayweather or Bradley next, there should be no reason not to have a rematch. McCloskey and Judah were a waste of time. While a Peterson fight isn't terrible, I bet most people would have rather seen a Maidana rematch.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 11-04-2011, 04:22 AM. -
I agree. . . Khan has nothing to prove. . he already beat him. . . maybe if maidana starts rolling through fools then he deserves a shot again. . . but make it worth something! make it at 147 after khan gets impressive wins, and if maidana can prove he's back on khan's level - then sure, the fight will be worth a lot of money, and should happen.
of course id love to see the fight, but i also understand that it's not really a meaningful fight at this point in time. . .Comment

The fight was defiantly rematch worthy but the rematch doesn’t have to be next for Khan after Peterson. To be honest Maidana hasn’t done much since the Khan fight he sc****d by a battle worn Morales and beat a no name in Argentina.
I see Khan moving to 147 very soon possibly after his next fight so Maidana will have to follow him and force his way into contention by getting people talking about him again but i think its possible Maidana may be to small to become a fully blown WW?Comment

The Judah fight was not boring imo it was just a one sided beatdown and neither the McCloskey or Judah fight where a waste of time they both had a clear purpose McCloskey was considered a tune up and Khan wanted to fight in England again they couldn’t secure Peterson so they got McCloskey who was still top 10 ranked and undefeated.Maidana's fight with Morales was a FOY candidate while Khan's last two fights were some of the most boring I've seen this year. Judah had a belt and Khan wanted to unify after the Bradley fight fell through fighting Judah was a no-brainer.
The onus is very much on Maidana to force the rematch Khan was the victor after all.Comment

Maidana should go and collect a title that wasn't gifted to him first. Then the rematch would be progressiveComment

The only person it benefits is Maidana who has done nothing since Khan beat him. Except fight bums and shot featherweights. Now hes lining up Malignaggi....one of Khan's leftovers.Comment

I agree with Khan on this, right now it makes no sense..Maybe down the road it will make more sense and we can see it again..But at the moment Khan gains nothing by fight Maidana again...Comment
