Comments Thread For: Larsen is Offered Bernard Hopkins?, Keller Inks Deal

Promotional firm Sauerland Event have signed up Danish middleweight Torben Keller. And at politiken.dk, promoter Kalle Sauerland reveals that comebacking super middleweight Mads Larsen (51-3, 38KOs) has an offer to fight WBC light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins in the United States. However, Sauerland makes it clear that Larsen has been out of the ring since losing to Brian Magee in early 2010, and needs a few tuneups before he's ready for an opponent like Hopkins. No dates have been announced.

Hopkins cried and cried for a Pascal rematch, but we haven't heard a peep of him demanding a rematch with Dawson. And now he makes an offer to fight someone who's retired. What a joke. This further confirms that he was deliberately ducking Dawson for all those years.

Bhop really wants NO part of Dawson and it certainly makes his actions very questionable if he digs up this bum instead of doing the honourable thing and facing the bigger, stronger , hungrier fighter in Dawson.......oh I forgot Bhop likes to have all the advantages where possible

I'm looking forward to watching Torben Keller in the pro's. With a nice build up, we can maybe have another World Champion from Denmark.
Keller lost in the first fight at the recent World Championships in Azerbaijan, to the following winner of the tournament in the welterweight division.
In 2009 he lost in the quarterfinals to Jack Culcay, who went on to win the tournament. (He beat Molina - the juinor World champion)
He's been very unlucky with his draws at the championships.

Larsen were a strong fighter 10 years ago, but problems with his promoter/manager Mogens Palle screwed up his bright career. To the luck of Kessler, Mads Larsen had to withdraw from a fight with Manny Siaca, because of sickness. Kessler then went on to win the belt, and then we know the rest of the story :-)
