Actually I have seen that before not sure of which fights, but when you get hit with looping shots on the ear sometimes that ear just swells up with blood and when your hit like that for a good 7 or 8 rounds sooner or later there is no more room for the blood and it just bust

In boxing it doesnt happen as often as MMA but i train with guys who its taken years and years of tough grappling to see any sort of Cauliflower ear. For his ear to be that damaged over the period of one fight is almost unheard of.

3 Cotto/PR stans talking ****. Why am I not surprised?

and here is the typical Margarito/mexican stan trying to defend the guy. I never said anything about Cotto or his fight with Margs but you cant seem to stop talking about him.

I'm referring to the night he was CAUGHT attempting to cheat. knowingly or not. once that news came out, i thought right back to this fight. You following someone blindly doesnt change that for me.

You also thought back to the Cotto fight and likely Cintron as anybody might have, but once the lab results came back they kind of cleared him IMO, considering the DA decided not to go after a criminal case due to the evidence or lack there of discovered in the lab.

if you think Cottos face swelling like that or him getting beat like that is due to loaded wraps whats your excuse for the way he looked after the Pacquiao fight?

i remember watching this fight and being amazed by the damage.

Once margs was caught with plaster i immediately thought back to this fight and wondered if maybe the plaster issue had even gone this far back because i never saw something like that before or after...

i thought back to Cotto for sure since nobody had done that to cotto before but not so much Cintron haha.
But again i'm not accusing him of cheating against Cotto, they can settle that in December. I'm just telling you my immediate thoughts once HBO said there was some sort of plaster of paris issue in the locker room. You guys who keep bringing up the cotto fight in this thread must feel some kind of way about it, considering I never even mentioned the mans name previously...

I agree. I'm one of the biggest Cotto fans here on the site but when you look at his fight with Pacquiao and Margarito, they look pretty much the same. That's just the way Cotto looks after taking a lot of punishment upstairs.

I don't like to refer to the plaster scandal as an excuse for Margarito beating Cotto. The only way you can attack Margarito without a doubt is in the Mosley fight for trying to load his gloves. Other than that, the rest is speculation.

I mean, the temptation's there for me to start shooting off my mouth and chalking up the Cotto loss to "Oh, ugh...Margarito had wraps..." but I don't do that because at the end of the day it's all speculation, even if there was a motive behind it (in speculating).

I give Margarito full credit for the victory, that fight was epic. I enjoyed it despite being depressed for like two days afterwards. I became a fan of Margarito and was looking forward to his fight with Mosley.

But man, once those haymakers started landing, I forgot everything about "Latinos standing behind Latinos" and started rooting for Mosley.

Margarito is one of the top fighters even if he is past his best, I'm sure he is a good sparring partner. And there's things he does thats similar to Mike Jones. Of course he's not an exact replica of Jones but he is good sparring. I'm sure they bring in many different fighters for sparring so it helps prepare a fighter.

I say in the end plaster or no plaster Cotto simply got hit too much cleanly. Also taking all the damage over the years his face is starting to give away easier.
