I did not know a thread was made about this. All the promoters should come together and make this series badass and do sick ratings unfortunately none of this will happen.

Fighters like Donaire, Rios, Cloud, Froch, Martinez, Ortiz, Berto, guys of that caliber are who I meant. Of course Mayweather and Pacquiao won't do it, but NBC shouldn't be aiming for that anyway.

You could have Donaire vs. Agbeko/Mares, Dawson vs. Cloud, Martinez vs. Pirog or someone at 154, Rios vs. Maidana, fights like that. Big, but not major PPV seller big, and almost certainly going to be very entertaining to watch.

They wouldn't want Ward/Froch, Martinez/Lara, or Hopkins vs. anyone on NBC, for example.

I would probably be one of the happiest people on the planet if that happened.

Those are all fights/fighters that aren't big enough to sell PPVs and would massively benefit from the exposure of fighting on NBC. Why not? How does having guys that would usually be on Friday Night Fights help boxing?

Tbh as fan im very happy because there will be more TV dates, but overall if this is just a VS thing then it's honestly not a big deal. VS has terrible ratings, even the UFC struggles on there. So unless they bring it to NBC (which would be big) then its kinda a 'meh' announcement.

Sorry, but when the UFC is putting on their HW championship on Fox I expect boxing promoters to try harder.

What happened to HBO'c cross-promotion on TBS/TNT?...that would have been huge.

Agree. Time warner has to start utilizing their other networks for a broader platform for Boxing.
