Angulo vs Kirkland - Should be a great action fight. I know a lot of people have written off Kirkland, but I'm always su****ious of first round knockouts and he's a fun fighter to watch. I wouldn't even be that surprised if he pulls off the upset.
Quillin vs McEwan - Prospect vs recovering prospect. It's all or nothing for two young fighters with talent. I love these types of fights, because you just know they aren't just coming for the paycheck, they're fighting for the future paycheck!
Bute vs Johnson - The first test of Lucian Bute. Johnson isn't what he once was, but he still leaves it all in the ring as we saw against Froch. We know Bute has power and talent, but we still don't know how good he really is and this is a tough test.
Burns vs Katsidis - Genuine 50/50 fight in my opinion. They both come to fight and they have both been in thrillers. I'm expecting a good fight.
Ok, so they aren't megafights, but they are competitive, championship-level fights that promise action and in an era of the fight game where we seem to talk more about fights that aren't happening, Boxing needs more Saturdays like this. Considering the weak looking weekends we have to look forward to before a good-looking December, we should be pleased with a schedule like this. I'm pumped anyway!
