I know it's early in the week but I'd like to know people's predictions for this weekend. Post your predictions and explanations. Here are mine:
Angulo KO/TKO Rd. 10 Kirkland: Angulo adjusts the first 4 rds to Kirkland's speed and movement. Kirkland is now more defensive-minded and fears getting reckless, so he moves alot and avoided toe to toe. Angulo picks his spots and forces Kirkland to open up after rounds 5 and 6. Kirkland lands some good punches and makes the mistake of trading with Angulo. Angulo begins chopping at Kirkland and wears him down. KO possible in rounds 8 and 9, but I give Kirkland the benefit of the doubt to survive til round 10, which is relatively uncharted territory for him, when he gets tired and opens up, allowing Angulo to land a hard right hand to put him down. Fight over.
Bute UD Johnson: Johnson very solid fighter and stays very busy in the fight. Lands some good punches, may even surprise some people with early clean punches. Johnson circles, stays off the ropes and tries to outbox Bute. Bute adjusts and his power and stable offense begin to back Johnson up after 4 or 5 rounds. Johnson circles and circles but can't find a way to hurt Bute. Bute begins to pick at Johnson and keep him on the defensive. Bute hurts Johnson late in the fight, but Johnson survives and continues to try to outbox Bute. Fight ends and Bute wins on all judges scorecards.
Katsidis KO Rd. 9 Burns: Looks like a great fight in the start, but Katsidis proves to be too much and too offensive for Burns to keep up the pace. Katsidis pounds at Burns, busting him up all night. Burns lucky to survive rds. 6-8. By rd. 9 Burns has been beat up and can't take anymore. Katsidis continues drilling Burns with power shots until he folds.
