Vazquez Jr took a good look at his defeat to Arce & according to him & his team they made some adjustments & corrected mistakes & used that defeat in positive way to improve himself..& in his first fight since that lost to Arce, Vazquez Jr defeated IBF ex-chamo Roberto "Mako" Leyva by KO in 3..But "Mako"Leyva best days were gone 11 years ago when he won the MINIMUMWEIGHT(105lbs) IBF title & is a TOTAL HAS BEEN that went from ex-champ to journey man to TOMATO CAN!! It's all good that now Vazquez Jr want's to fight the best, but all within due time..Cause by beating Leyva doesn't PROVE ANYTHING!!! Especially when he want's a MONSTER like Donaire to be his next opponent..Vazquez Jr should try to get a rematch with Arce & depending how he looks & what the outcome is, then they could have a better idea on what to do next..Cause right now he could think he's ready for Donaire, but against a fighter of Donaire caliber, he's could actually be ready to get KNOCKED THE *** OUT!!!Last edited by Tomasio; 10-31-2011, 07:20 PM.Comment

Before I thought that nonito was out of wv2 league but regardless of narvaez defense and unwillingness to engage I think nonito looked like sh... Failed to take the fight to him, shouldve cut of the ring and use inside uppercuts to force narvaez to open up or look for angles. Anyways, we know wv2 can take a few good power shots and and counter with his own, but how is Nonitos chin??? Might be a great match, dont even dare to call a winner. Ps. Juanma could learn a lot from this two, either would retire him.Comment

Even though WV2 is a former "world champion" in reality he is still a green prospect handed a title for beating a much smaller fighter.
He needs more time to improve and show whether he is actually a world class fighter some day.Comment

" I'm Ready For Nonito Donaire! "Super bantamweight contender Wilfredo "Papito" Vazquez Jr. (21-1-1, 18KOs) is ready for the big fights and he's willing to face WBC/WBO bantamweight champ Nonito Donaire, who plans to move up to 122-pounds in early 2012. Fighting for the first time since the TKO loss to Jorge Arce, Vazquez returned to action on Saturday night in Puerto Rico and stopped Mexico's Roberto Leyva in three rounds. Vazquez has been mentioned as one of the opponents being considered for Donaire's debut at 122.

No he's still not ready
Vasquez Jr. is still too green.
I admire his guts, but there is no way he's ready for Donaire. He needs to stay busy with a few tomato cans and then think about a rematch with Arce by the summer.
Donaire is something he can think about when he moves up in 2013. He should avoid him at 122.Comment
