I agree with the bolded part, the warrior in Cotto quit for a reason, he lives to fight another day.

Thing is man when you are a Cotto, a guy who fights the toughest opponents out there and takes little to no easy fights you are not going to look dominating. And still he only has two losses, one of them which he can avenge this december.

You put Cotto up against bums to make him shine or prospects like Canelo and his superior level will show. But that's not Cotto, he fights the toughest and trickiest fighters out there. For his own good or bad but he will always be respected for that.

In terms of marketability and at the same time being very winnable, an Alvarez-fight would be an awesome career choice for him. I would only prefer a beatdown of Chavez Jr, but the guy would have to come down again, not sure if he could do that and he certainly doesn't want none of Cotto, can't blame him though).

I don't think he can really beat Martinez at 154, but I would applaud him for going once again against one of the toughest possible opponents.

If Cotto beats Margarito Arum will call GBP and trie to set up a Cotto-Alvarez unification bout for May-June of next year but I don't see that fight happening. The one I see happening is a fight with Powel Wolak if Wolak beats Rodriguez in the rematch. That fight before the PR Day Parade in NYC would be a good sell and make tons of money at the gate.

If the Wolak fight doesn't happen I expect Cotto to pick either a Mosley fight or Chavez Jr if Chavez mans up.

Not Martinez I hope. Maybe Canelo not Chavez though, that bum is huge.

After Margo, this fights would be acceptable
                Canelo-Cintron winner
                Angulo-Kirkland winner
                Martinez at 154
                Ortiz at 147

Fighitng wolak or Rodriguez would be a huge step backwards!

Why not Martinez? I think he has a good chance being the boxer he is.

I want to see Cotto back at 147 where he belongs. Lots of Matchups at 147 with any of the young guns there. Cotto vs Marcos would be a nice little war, for however long it lasts.

I was wondering if Ricans would want Cotto to have a rematch with Pac if he managed to win dominantly as in multiple KDs/won every round with late stoppage against Marg?
