@Ryan Maquiñana, weren't you there @ Pacquiao's media workout? why didn't you mention to Lewkowicz that Pacquiao agrees @ 150?
I was not at the media workout, but off-camera (since this is an excerpt of the transcript from the video interview up on the site) I told him that Pacquiao had said he would be open to 150. However, since Sampson had not seen that particular report yet, he was only commenting on what he had actually read to that point.

    Thanks for reading,
    Ryan

Nobody at Super middleweight, including Lucian Bute, would be a big PPV fight that would sell in the US. That's what he's looking for. Since nobody at Super middleweight is popular enough to carry him, he has to move down or land a fight with Chavez. Only way he'll gain his own fanbase (especial because he's a man without a country) is to fight some other fighter that's popular in the US.

Martinez is not being realistic if he thinks somebodies just gonna up and offer him a ppv fight. Hes never even been on the undercard of a big ppv fight. Martinez belongs on HBO Championship Boxing not ppv.

Well, he's the mandatory for Chavez so that's a realistic PPV fight, unless Chavez vacates. But vacating the belt to duck Martinez might be embarrassing enough to force the fight. Also, Bob Arum said he would have no problem matching Margarito with Sergio if Margarito beats Cotto. And I think a fight with Angulo is doable.

I agree in the sense that he's not popular to sell a PPV on his own. But I disagree in the sense that he deserves a shot on PPV against a big name.

lol @ this guy putting faith in promises made by that clown Sulaiman that Martinez gets next crack at Chavez. He's the guy that stripped Sergio in the first place so that Chavez could win the belt without having to fight Martinez.

Chavez wouldnt be the first guy to vacate his title. And nobody in Chavez's team has even hinted that they would give Sergio a shot either. Chavez is Sergios only shot at a ppv. Even if Bob Arum throws Margarito in there with him that fights free on HBO. If Cotto wins hes in line for a rematch with Manny.

at 5'10 Sergio is pushing it as an undersized MW, so with that in mind, I don't see Martinez going up another weight class to Super MW

plus already mentioned, but the best at Super MW (Bute, Froch and Ward) wouldn't be big enough names

As for why chase around the small guys (Pac + Mayweather) well at 36 years old Sergio probably doesn't have too many fights left and understandably wants a high profile PPV bout. But he doesn't have a big name, so for somebody like Pac or May

Sergio is high risk low reward, ie the kind of name that usually doesn't get a big fight

Marvellous Marvin Hagler, one of the greatest middleweights of all time was 5'9 and a half. Would you consider him an undersize MW?

Sergio Martinez isn't a huge guy but at the same time, he's too big for guys at welterweight so he's in a messed up position. Right now the only thing he is doing is chasing that huge payday because he has about 2 max years left and thats it.
