Big ***** deal. I've been to the "D" many times and walked down Cass Corridor without any problems. And Toney doesn't even live in Detroit and hasn't for a long time.

Toney is like Detroit, though, in that Detroit is only a faded remnant of what it used to be.

Stating the facts for Toney fans = "hating."

I bet Toney's punch resistance will suffer from this weight loss. He don't even look like the same fighter he was at heavyweight. No spare tire at all. I'm impressed.

His reflexes are not what they used to be, he is easy to hit now, he is punchy, he has abused his body and now dropped weight very quickly, meaning he also lost muscle tissue as well as fat.

Really, this fight has disaster written all over it for Toney. And even if he does somehow win, the price he is going to pay in terms of his health will be very steep. He can barely speak now -- soon he won't be able to tie his own shoelaces.
Toney always had a slurring speach, not as bad as now but he always had it. And hes not a guy like Jones. Take Jones reflexes and speed away and there is nothing left. Toney never had super athletic abilities but he has skills and at this lower weight it will be easier for him to use them. He will be lighter on his feet and move his upper body better. On the pictures ive seen he looks slimmed down but not drained, he looks healthy and fresh IMO. So chances are good he will suprise some people and maybe even win this fight. Toney is propably the most experienced active fighter today and has 4x more fights than Lebedev. Lebedev is a noob compared to Toney. Toney will teach Lebedev something about the sweet science of boxing. I just hope he will not get outworked by Lebdev, he also could get robbed in russia.

Brewster had successful surgery for his eye, was medically cleared to fight and was in great shape for the Wlad rematch. The 1 year layoff is another weak excuse. Vitali came back after a 4 year layoff and destroyed WBC Heavyweight Champ Sam Peter.

In the interviews before and after the fight, Brewster repeatedly said his eye was fine after the successful surgery. He gave Wlad full credit for dominating him and becoming the first man to stop him.

I posted the Wlad-Brewster II full HBO broadcast. It has the pre-fight analysis/videos/interviews and post-fight interviews/analysis.

Let's try to keep this thread focused on the legendary and skillful James Toney, his weight loss, and his partying in Moscow.

There are numerous other threads where one can discuss the one-dimensional robot that is Wlad Klitschko.
