Comments Thread For: Povetkin Hits Back: Ready To Face Tyson Fury in 2012

WBA Heavyweight Champion Alexander Povetkin (22-0, 16 KOs) has laughed off the comments from Tyson Fury (16-0, 11 KOs), who most recently claimed he was ready to “take Povetkin out.” The 32-year-old Russian makes a first defence of his title at Helsinki´s renowned Hartwall Areena on December 3, taking on tough American challenger Cedric Boswell (35-1, 26 KOs). Povetkin was amused by Fury´s remarks.

“I am ready to defend my belt against every challenger out there,” he stated. “But I must admit I am not overly scared by comments from someone whose biggest hit to date has been a Youtube video where he punches himself in the face.

      Povetkin would destroy Fury.

Fury is a KO waiting to happen.

          Povetkin would knock him out.

Povetkin can say what he want about Fury, Boswell himself isn't a serious contender ; he chose an old man.

I would think that Chisora hits harder than Fury.

Povetkin doesn't seem to hit very hard at all.

Pretty even fight, although I'd say Fury has better chances in this one. I really like Povetkin, but he has gone a downwards trend since Teddy Atlas is training him. Fury has the reach & height advantage too.

Everytime Povetkin is referred to as a champion it further devalues the belt.

I don't think the value of the WBA title can go down any further.
