I would like to see Maidana fight Zaveck, it gives Zaveck another chance against a decent name fighter and it shows where Maidana is really at against a sub world class guy. No need for Maidana to fight some random club fighter or old journeyman it proves nothing at a new weight.

yes that would be a good fight. but where would it take place? ed hearn can't even pull him to belfast for mccloskey, and they probably have more money than zaveck's promoter. maidana is still a gold digger, no matter that he says he will fight anyone anywhere.

Maidana is so overrated here it's insane. He has a 2 good wins(A quitter and an also overrated Cayo), and was nearly beaten by the corpse of Erik Morales.

He gets beaten by anyone with a good chin and the slightest ability to box. Mayweather would embarrass him worse than he did Gatti

People has been calling HBO office and they are getting the same answer, "The final PPV buys for the Mayweather/Ortiz fight is not yet in". Leonard Ellerbe and Richard Schaefer both from the Mayweather camp already made an announcement that the fight made a 1.25 million buys. The Mayweather camp can think of any imaginary number but boxing aficionados around the world are not buying their story. A very reliable source made a disclosure few days ago that the fight sold a mere 500K. Even with that number a lot of people are saying that the fight did not sell that much and the live gate proves it. Live gate sold only 8 million dollars. This is way bellow the expected number announced by the Mayweather group and GBP.
