I would agree to a point ... Madaina is too loopy with his punches and that slows delivery. Opponents with hand-speed will always be Madaina's Achilles's heel.

If he can learn to shorten his punches, Madaina would be a danger to anyone except the elite.

I was looking forward to see Maidana vs Brandon Rios at 140 but Maidana has looked really drained making 140 lately, maybe his body is telling him to move up. Marcos will have a real chance vs Ortiz, Khan or Berto, but he's tailor made for Floyd...too slow for May, also he throws long looping punches, Money May will have a field day with him!!!...saying this, I'm looking forward to see Maidana @ 147, I'm a fan!!!

I would like to see Maidana fight Zaveck, it gives Zaveck another chance against a decent name fighter and it shows where Maidana is really at against a sub world class guy. No need for Maidana to fight some random club fighter or old journeyman it proves nothing at a new weight.
