Business and health wise, this was a smart move. Sure he isn't going to get a lot of respect for running his mouth like he did but I can see him being on the short list for potential Canelo opponents now. That fight would get him his highest payday and he didn't have to get his ass whooped to earn it. He can retire after and start a business because it seems he doesn't really want to be in the fight business.

I'd bet money that he wouldn't stand a chance against Canelo. Vanes is weak, he can't take solid punches....hi face is always busted up after fights and half the time, it's still showing wear and tear from when the sparring partners have trashed him during training camp.

Canelo shortens the ring on him and starts to break him down, round by round. Vanes gets dropped in rd 5 and then in rd 6.....ref stops it in rd 7.

Vanes is even worst than Chavez Jr and Canelo, he had an amateur background, went to the Olympics and still with 31 fights is fighting dead men like Gutierrez, a man who Jonathan Gonzalez beat in his 13th fight. Canelo and Chavez had no amateur career and that's why maybe they're still fighting chumps, although not an excuse for them as they're now champs, but Vanes is just a pu55y...
