No. He didn't. He treated it as a rumor all along, and called it a rumor. The worst someone can say is he shouldn't have floated that out there but he never wrote that he believed that number to be fact or reported it that way.

The fact that it was stated that GBP withheld the numbers due to Mayweather trying to settle his IRS liens is preposterous. THe IRS are not that ****** to settle a mult million dollar lien without having full knowledge of an individual's total income. Mayweather's total purse was contingent upon knowing the full PPV revenues and total gate proceeds. As a result, it wouldn't make sense for the IRS to have a tax lien satisfied without full knowledge of those numbers.

With all the boxing industry suffering domestically, and the rise of streaming, the figures are greater than i anticipated, however, they are short of the 1.8 million that Richard Schaefer of GBP predicted.
