It's good numbers but considering the hype surrounding it, it's a little on the low side.

Pacquiao vs. Mosley did 1.3 million PPV buys despite the fact that:

It wasn't fought during a major Mexican holiday.

It did not have a 24/7.

It had a very poor undercard - unlike Mayweather/Ortiz which had superstars like Canelo Alvarez and Erik Morales - all fighting during a major Mexican holiday.

It had two fighters that didn't do any trash talking.

Pacquiao fights twice per year unlike Floyd who ARTIFICIALLY pumps up demand by only fighting once every 14 months.

Well I guess we won't be seeing Mayweather v. Pacquiao anytime soon.

As long as people keep buying Mayweather's PPVs, there's no incentive for Mayweather to take the risk against Pacquiao. Why take a chance and end up losing a good thing?

Why would Top Rank lie with a high number. It would be to their benefit to lie with a lower number. Don't forget Pacquiao has a cut in PPV, the higher the number the more goes to Pacquiao. If Top Rank lies with a bigger number, Pacquiao will be asking for his cut based on that number. I got a feeling Top Rank is probably lying with a lower number and keeping more for themselves.
