Stop twisting the truth.
But even if Pacquiao/Mosley did 1 million PPV it would still be a rousing success given that:
It wasn't fought during a MAJOR Mexican holiday.
It involved two fighters that didn't trash talk.
It had a mediocre undercard...unlike Mayweather/Ortiz which was fought during a MAJOR Mexican holiday with an undercard that involved fighters that were themselves superstars: Canelo Alvarez and Erik Morales.
Pacquiao fights twice per year. Unlike Mayweather who ARTIFICIALLY pumps up demand for his fights by only fighting once every 15 months.Comment

Calculate the revenue difference then you will know whether the numbers have been disappointing or not.Ever heard of the term 'price elasticity'?Pacquiao vs. Mosley does 1.3 Million PPV - Official Numbers
How does Pacquiao achieve this kind of numbers against a bum, with no meaningful undercard, and on a non-Mexican holiday? Plus, he fights twice per year. If he only fought once per year, the numbers would probably be much higher due to the fact that he will be missed by his fans for so long.
I'm bringing this up because the numbers for Mayweather vs. Ortiz has only been a very disappointing 1.25 PPV buys despite the fact that it was a Mexican card with Canelo Alvarez, Eric Morales, and Victor Ortiz fought during a Mexican holiday. Plus, Floyd only fights once every 14 months to ensure that he will be missed for a long time by his fans. No doubt, his audience gets cut in half if he fought more often.
How does Pacquiao achieve huge number even without a great undercard and very little promotion?Comment

Uh...and? He's been fighting on American PPVs longer than his counterpart. And has been much more exciting at that.Last edited by V.WEBB; 10-28-2011, 12:33 PM.Comment

I think it's a possibility, but they'd do over there what we're doing over here... stack a house with people. So one PPV could be 50 people watching it over there.Comment
