Peter's and Alfonso Gomez were two of the reasons I'm so into boxing right now. I'm pulling for him to win, but I agree on the judges score cards. He's going to have to really pull something out his ass because close rounds/ kind of close rounds could go to Chavez Jr.
I don't see Peter getting KO'd and Peter can take a punch... i'm going for the upset.Comment

its a shit fight made by bob tbh i would have expected more from him tbh what has manfredo done lately to earn him a shot against chavez jr? chavez jr vs martinez should be made instead of this crapBy Thomas Gerbasi - In the lying game known as boxing, Peter Manfredo Jr. may be the last honest man. There are no punches pulled, no quotes given for the sake of hype. What you see from “The Pride of Providence” is what you get, and oddly enough, it may be that honesty that earns him his first world championship on November 19th.
Because if you lie to yourself about your place in the business, about your skills, or what the future holds, the slightest ripple in the water can cause your boat to sink. But there are no such illusions for the 30-year old middleweight as he approaches his date with WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Houston. He knows where he’s at, he knows what he brings to the table, and he’s confident that in this, his last hurrah, he’s got the goods to extend that hurrah just a little longer.
“If I don’t win this fight, I’m done,” he said. “I won’t put on gloves anymore because it won’t be worth it for me. Then what? I’m gonna go back to making five, ten thousand dollars a fight? It takes you two months to get ready for a fight, and I could be working, making the same thing, if not more. So that’s where I’m at right now. If I lose the fight, I’m done. But if I win the fight, my life is set, so I’m gonna leave everything in the ring that night. I’m gonna give all I’ve got, and that’s gonna make for a great fight because he doesn’t want to lose in front of his fans, and he’s a world champion who’s never lost. This fight is gonna be great, but I think my hand will be raised at the end. I’m very confident.” [Click Here To Read More]Comment

“Quality Dude” Manfredo represents what is great about this game. Unfortunately, too far few in between the idiots that flaunt their money, duck quality opponents and win by any means necessary. I wish him well and hope he wins this fight.Comment

A hardworking guy that takes care of his family?
A fighter honest about where his skill set is?
A humble guy that is very thankful for the life boxing has brought him?
A guy that that calls a title shot "A blessing"?
BOXING COULD USE ABOUT A MILLION MORE GUYS LIKE THIS.
Look...he is a very average boxer. BUT...he usually beats the guys he is supposed to beat, and loses to the guys he is expected to lose to.
BUT......Im pulling for him. I think of all the "title" holders at middleweight......JCCJR is the most beatable.
Go balls out and keep your families faces in front of your eyes MannyJ! Good luck.

I know what u mean but I will say that Peter doesnt get the full credit, in that I would say in my honest opinion he is certainly more than just an "average boxer" ...he's a good fighter, really, and I think that being on that show actually causes him to get LESS credit, like he is somehow less of a boxer because he was on a TV show...some of those guys on that show get bad raps IMO...Comment

bringing the fight to chavez is a good idea however peter doesnt got the power to ko him
manfredo can only win by decision and that's gonna be impossible still im looking forward to this match
if chavez jr looks good i think he can be a long time championComment
