    yes and Yes... you are right on both points, but this and couple other threads were responses to an idiot poster we used to have so you do not have the context to see the humour in it. Corbett does deserve a place in history though, he proved against Sullivan that with gloves and no wrestling holds boxing needed a different type of fighter but Vitali is too big and also has benefitted from what Corbett passed down through the generations

      James J corbett wouldnt even be a contender.

      Jack Dempsey, John L Sullivan, any heavyweight champion before 1930 can eat a s!ck ****...shouldnt even be in the hall of fame...Jack Johnson fought the best blacks, whites and who ever of his day

      .people talking about fighters today ducking one fighter but these fools avoided an entire race....Peter Jackson would have kicked Sullivans ass just like Sam Langford, Harry Wills, George Godfrey, wouldve given Dempsey hell.
