Promoter Lou DiBella has advised BoxingScene.com that a verbal agreement has been reached for a clash between undefeated two division champion Zsolt Erdei (33-0, 18KOs) and IBF light heavyweight king Tavoris Cloud (23-0, 19KOs). Contracts have not been signed but the fight is going to take place on December 31st, with Showtime televising. A few locations are being considered to stage the fight. DiBella has not received confirmation regarding the other possible fights on the show.

If Cloud won this fight convincingly, it wouldn't make me think he is a P4P caliber fighter or anything like that. But it definitely would be a step in the right direction because Erdei is a quality fighter (or at least he's supposed to be).
