I think he fades because of how tight he is, look at how hard he is always pumping his jab. He uses it like a power shot rather than a tool to set up more meaningful shots.

JT is too tense, if he relaxed a bit in there he would have more stamina down the stretch but he just looks so uncomfortable in the ring.
