Comments Thread For: Mike Jones Expects Tough Lujan, Eyes Berto's Belt

NEW YORK -- Welterweight contender Mike Jones fought two of his past three fights against tough Mexican Jesus Soto-Karass. Soto-Karass gave Jones all he could handle in their first bout, but Jones took care of him with ease in the rematch earlier this year on HBO.

I like Mike Jones, he just hasn't fought anyone yet...I am not sure he is as good as he is hyped. Definitely don't think he could compete on the level of Pacquaio or Mayweather. Berto might be a good opponent, if he can get the fight.

Wow I had no idea this was on the card too. This is what undercards are supposed to look like.

Berto-Jones is a very interesting fight.

Not sure who wins. Both are talented flawed fighters.

This kid may be flawed but he's tuff!

This is a young fighter who has basic things to improve on and he will do fine. I believe once he get his legs right that he will propel himself to the next level of elite fighters. Balance is the key to being a great fighter and important for a puncher like Mike. Many times I witnessed bad balance from him so that should be worked on.

Agreed. I hope this gets made and IF Jones wins, let him then move to Ortiz. Then a Khan or Bradley fight or even Mosley (as a stepping stone).

IF some how M Jones pulls all that off, a Mayweather or Pac fight would be called for! Anything sooner IMO would be too early.

Jesus Soto-Karass is somebody, Mike Jones gain a lot of my respect for re-matching him right after a questionable win.
