how much guarantee does hopkins get for each fight? cuz 100k PPVs that's like 5 mil.$ total. HBO might be at a loss on this one.

The fight actually did 450K buys. Number won't be released until after Hopkins pays his back taxes.

probably less than 75k. Everyone knew from the start it was a bad PPV and a bad match up. HBO screwed up by wasting all their damn money

I wouldn't be surprised by those numbers. Neither fighter really has a fan base and very little promotion was put into the fight. The Hopkins-Pascale rematch was more PPV worthy than this fight.

the only people that bought this were

              Dawson's family and friends
              Hopkins' family and friends
              NATAS and Bringer

Hopkin's has never been a good PPV seller. His style isn't attractive and doesn't bring out a fan friendly fight because his opponents also don't engage, and often his fights can be hot or cold.

The thing is, the fans wanted this fight I believe. HBO didn;t screw up, the fans did.
