But what happens if Marquez turns out to actually be competitive? What if the fight goes 12 with back & forth action & we have yet another close war? Does Manny retain his pfp status that was passed to him when Floyd took leave. Or does the head to head comparo being in Floyd's favor return him back to the #1 spot?
to me the only difference now is that marquez is past it and old
you can't compare this to the mayweather fight when mayweather is so clearly bigger and longer than marquez(aswell as juan being old). if you have any braincells you take into account floyds style of keeping you at a distance

the weight isn't the issue it's marquez's age
and if he still has anything in the tank he shouldn't make it a complete walk in the park for pacquiao

That's true though... people forget that.... still think Pacquiao will win easier now though... not that Marquez won't make it a fight though.

if jmm looks sharp and the fight turns out competitive then i don't see any problem with that. the outcome of any fight depends entirely on the performance of both fighters.

it just so happened that jmm's performance against floyd was bad and everybody was pointing out the weight gain as the reason which makes sense. against pac everybody is expecting the same jmm to show up which also makes sense. now if he shows up different and better then it's good for the fans especially the ones who will buy the ppv.

If a 38 YEAR OLD Marquez is competitive against Pacquiao .

It means that Mayweather vs Pacquiao is a mismatch .

This. Floyd will not regain the p4p status until Pac loses or retire, or at least get inactive for a long period of time.

I really dont think JMM will last much more than3 to 5 rounds this time. He may drag the fight out a bit longer but hes a whisker away from defeat though.
