i think his handlers have everything to do it with - promotional tactic like i said - they are paying his bills, so he'll fight who they pay him the most to fight. . . after toney, he will be A LOT more popular in Russia, and thus will have power at the bargaining table to BRING FIGHTS TO RUSSIA, so he won't get JOBBED again. . . GENIUS!
Yeah, I get that but come on. On one hand you have a fighter like Paul Williams who fights champ after champ, yet gets hated upon. Then in the other Lebedev who prides himself on beating past prime legends - and what people like you call a genius promotional strategy. It's ridiculous, and I for one am calling him out on his BS. Don't really give two fingers if anyone else doesn't. Preparing to fight Toney months before it was announced, that's how bad of a fighter he is. How on earth does someone respect a fighter that trains for a past prime opponent, without him even knowing you're doing so? That's got to be up there as one of the top ATG b1tch moves.

Young? He's 32. Cheeesus! And has only lost one fight. You want to talk about age? Fine. Lebedev and Andre Ward have fought the same amount of fights. Ward is the younger between by about 6 years. Has taken on much better opposition yet receives more hate. LOL. I mean you've got to call it as you see it. Dude's a bum.

Williams fought champion after champion? You mean a way past his prime Sharmba Mitchell, Margarito (who was in good form at the time), losing to Quintana (who wasn't a champ previously), a past his prime Verno Phillips, a past his prime Winky Wright who had just lost (neither guy fought again), robbing Sergio Martinez, beating Cintron by way of injury, getting KO'd brutally by Martinez in a rematch, and then robbing a still green as a pro Cuban amateur champ?

Yeah, champ after champ indeed, and no past their primers there, right.

His resumé still knocks the stuffing out of Lebedevs.

Your point is still nullified. And it's hardly a fair comparison right now, for obvious reasons. One guy is on the way up, the other is likely on his way out the door.

And Lebedev will soon be on the way out after. What are his options when done with Toney? The guy is 32, moving swiftly further away from his physical prime. Fighters that tend to stand the test of time are technically adept, something which Lebedev is not; all his skills are basic. I can't wait to see him out of boxing.

32 is hardly old for a cruiserweight, and boxing age is measured in ring mileage not years.

I get it though, you just trying to save face now after being exposed.

Exposed as being what? I'm just letting my thoughts be known, and that is Lebedev's a bum. Who's next on his age old hit list?!

Andre Ward has fought the same number of pro fights as Lebedev has, and I've hardly seen him fight b2b past prime fighters in recent times. I'm sure he would get ripped to shreds if he did, and hence why I'm going out on a limb and taking Lebedev apart

I meant your argument being exposed, with my first post. I'm not meaning to slag off Williams, but his record is not nearly as impressive as you represented it, and he did in fact fight his share of faded former champions. You also come off as a hypocrite a little bit for crying foul about people hate on Williams, while yourself hating on another fighter in Lebedev. That's fine if you don't like Lebedev and think he isn't going to go far, but comparing him at this stage to a former champion approaching the end of his run at the top also seems a bit silly.

Ward is also was also a highly touted amateur and Olympic gold medalist, who was careful managed into title position, as is typical of prospects of that level. He was also fast tracked recently with the Super 6 tournament. He passed his tests, and that is credit to him, but saying they have the same number of fights is a bit of a misnomer really. They're two different fighters and two different case studies. I'm all for giving Lebedev the opportunity to develop, and withholding judgment for now personally.
