Also, why would the UFC need exposure and money? Aren't they the leading MMA program? They don't need exposure man, they have tonnes of it. I think that's a poor argument, and you've been misguided by whoever you say you knew in the UFC.

Even though some boxing fights have been fixed, it's not like it happens all the time. With that said, I still prefer boxing over UFC. But, watching bad boxing is like pulling teeth. I'd rather watch bad UFC then bad boxing, because at least theres a chance somebody might break an arm or leg.
It was when the UFC did that show in Alabama. Chris Nelson and Paul Moore who at that time were shoot fighters was called up to do a show. So they went up and was paid nice to take their falls. When they came back we all hooked up at the gym and they were telling me what the whole show was like, you know behind the scences stuff, well the thing that was most shocking to me was that they was told when they arrived to the arena who they was fighting and what they wanted in the match, they were told to go down, and they did just that. UFC is fixed, nevermind what you believe, just know that it is fixed.

If I remember correctly, I can recall a time when pride was caught fixing fights.

I don't know man. I could see some fights being fixed, for sure. But to say that the entire UFC is fixed, is liked saying that the entire boxing organization is fixed as well.

It's not fair to judge something based on it's worst specimens. Just because you're buddies fights were fixed doesn't mean the whole sport is.

Also, by what you said about the behind the scenes stuff, it sounds like they were encouraged to go to the gound because they were shoot fighters. Mabye I'm just not reading it right, but saying what you'd want to see in a fight to a figher, isn't telling him to throw the fight. Saying.... take a dive or you don't get paid, is more along the lines of fixing a fight.

I just can't see the whole thing as a sham, based on 1 personal experience.

Remember when states were banning UFC because it was to dangrous? Then the UFC started making drastic rule changes and started getting into more "show".

UFC is a different sport than boxing, so its an unfair argument either way. The UFC guys would have advantage in matches with UFC rules, especially if the UFC guy's discipline was in some sort of leg submission or leg striking.

At the same time, the boxer would have the advantage in the boxing rules match. I've seen only a little MMA stuff, and the guys listed as having boxing ability, it was pretty damn limited to say the least.

Ray Mercer was an idiot for taking on Remy Bonjavsky or whatever his name was. You could just look at those two and tell who was going to win.

I don't know if it is fixed or not but with as many fighters who don't have contracts with the UFC go in and lose you would think that someone would of said something by now. No matter how much they are paid something like that usually comes out in the open.
