Comments Thread For: Sauerland: We Expect Mikkel Kessler Back in Early 2012

Kalle Sauerland of Sauerland Event, who promote Mikkel Kessler (44-2, 33 KOs), expect the Danish superstar to return to the ring in early 2012. He was scheduled to face WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (40-2, 23 KOs) on November 5th, but he was forced to withdraw after breaking one of his fingers in training camp. Kessler recently underwent surgery to correct the injury and there were no complications.

If he's just going to sit around in Denmark and fight for paper titles he may as well retire.

His name has become quite irrelevant lately. Him and Dirrell.

I guess that's just what happens when you choose to fight no names instead of fulfill the tournament obligations.
