There really is very little overlap and i have seen many sources say this. I remember talking to dan rafael on twitter and he said the fan bases are just polar opposites.

MMA vs. Boxing, is kinda like NFL vs. MLB, many (if not most) people love both, but there are people who hate baseball as being the national past time and consider football to be the new national past time because its far more popular and more "exciting". Right now MMA is like the NFL, and boxing is baseball - it has its traditions and will always have its appeal but in terms of popularity its going down hill.

Not true at all it is just attracting different demographics. If you look at Boxing PPV rates which are real figures because Time Warner is a Publicly traded company and must produce real figures. The football vs. Baseball comparison is not a logical one because College Football was the biggest sporting event in America in the 1920's and it is just such a different comparison.

It will be a great night for fight fans, everyone can watch BOTH events because of the timing. Throw a massive fight party, drink and eat while watching some great MMA and boxing. Dana White and co wouldn't be ****** enough to schedule a fight at the same time as a Pacquiao event, even White will be tuning into Manny's fight after:

No thanks, I'd rather watch Tim Bradley beat up on Casamayor.

To be honest, I'm more excited about Cain VS JDS than the Pacquiao-Marquez mismatch, and I'm not even big on UFC.
