I think Buster is a great guy and just didn't love the sport enough to train properly. That doesn't make him a bad guy. I have a great deal of respect for Buster even after the Holyfield fight. His lack of respect for the title was bad that night, but I give him a pass becuase he is a good guy and accomplished something that nobody on the face of the earth thought was possible. He won the Heavyweight Championship ( a real one)from the baddest man on the planet.

    great stuff

Ike is a criminal and a pyschopath...he gets no love here

In looking at Wlad in the light of the Peter fight, it may be correct to emphasize his heart noting that he picked himself three times off the canvass. But it would be a grave error to overlook the fact that he went to the canvass three times and had to pick himself up.

In looking at Wlad against the backdrop of all the conspiracy theories, it may serve one in good stead if the three KDs in the Peter fight be considered in assessing the Brewster meeting. And, it wouldn't help to under-rate the power of Brewster's punches. To do so would fly on the face of the stark result, even if it is claimed that Wlad was obviously punched-out moments before the fight ended.

A heavyweight punch is a heavyweight punch. To date, Brewster has put away 29 opponents in his 33 victories (only 2 defeats). That's not something to sneeze at.

The 6'1 Lamon also has met at least three opponents who stand about as tall or taller than the 6'6 Wlad: The 7- foot Marcellus Brown (233 lbs to Brewster's 219), the 6'5 Richard Mason (231 to Brewster's 221) and the 6'5 Tony Martin (237 to Brewster's 231). Brown was KOd in the 4th while Martin was TKOd in 3. Mason went the 10-round distance.

He was outweighed by over twenty pounds by, but nonetheless stopped, the likes of Marcus Rhode (254 while Brewster was 225, KO1), Quinn Navarre (247 to Brewster's 220, KO1), Everett Martin (258 to Lamon's 223, TKO4), Biko Botowamango (248 to Brewster's 221, TKO5) and the huge Joe Lenhart (309 lbs, TKO 3).

To say that Brewster's stoppages was by attrition (his ring name "Relentless lends much to that opinion) can be off the mark. He has had a number of first round KOs, and attrition does not happen in a single round.

Brewster has had only two losses and none of them by stoppage.
All the talk about conspiracies does not seem to deal Brewster a fair hand.

Here is a statement from Bob Arum. As fans of boxing we should all hope he is being serious by saying this because it can only mean better things to look forward to.

I have an option with each of the fighters," says promoter Bob Arum regarding the November 12 heavyweight title fight between Vitali Klitschko and Hasim Rahman. "If I have anything to do with the winner's next fight, I am not interested in being a slave to the alphabet soup guys. I will suggest that whoever wins the fight fight the best guy out there because I believe fighting the best guy out there means the most money to the champion."

"Certainly if Rock wins, the best guy out there you could make a case for is Wladimir Klitschko, the brother, because that's certainly the biggest fighter out there and Wladimir has credentials. If Klitschko wins, then maybe the best guy out there is Lamon Brewster."

Arum continued, "Some of these other champions, they're nice guys, but how do you sell a fight with John Ruiz? Here's a guy that if the rules are followed he would be disqualified every fight. And in any event, if I'm wrong in that regard, then I think nobody wants to see him fight anyway. I mean, he's very, very hard to watch. It's not what people want."

am i the only person to notice this sentence?

"The FBI is investigating various figures in boxing and indictments are allegedly on the way, could the conspiracy theorists be on to something?"

sounds interesting if there is proven evidence of some tampering in one way or another.

stranger **** has happened before. don king had rigged a pro tournament before if i remember correctly.

i think wlad undertrained, underestimated, and was to agressive. I do not think there was a conspiracy, i think he punched himself out
