Honestly.... the guy can do whatever he wants... and nobody sitting in their computer chair or couch, has a right to tell him any different.

I first saw Roy Jones Jr. in his olympic bid for gold. I have rewatched those bouts and I can't say that I have ever seen an olympic boxer dominate the way that Roy Jones Jr. had in the summer of '88. He didn't dominate with pure power, he dominated with extraordinary skill and finesse.

I watched him as he turned pro and watched him make my former stable mate James Toney look absolutely outclassed as though he didn't even belong in the ring with Jones.

I've watched his superior skills erode through the many bouts that he's had since. Now it goes like this, he wins some or he gets ktfo. It's sad to see a great fighter erode but it happens to all of them in time.

Hearing that Jones wants to fight again immediately brings to my mind Joe Louis slipping through the ropes old and unconcious. Roy isn't so old as Louis was but his skills have slipped all the same. An icon of the '90's and mid '00, I don't want to see it happen again.

If he does fight I wish him all of the luck in the world. Even if he wins the bout he will just be a shell of his once great self beating on a tomato can that wouldn't have lasted a round with prime Roy. I don't want to see that, I don't want to see him injured anymore than he has been in his last few bouts. I say this from the heart, I don't want to see Roy Jones jr. fight again. Let me live my life with the memory of your greatness............Rockin'

I'm just worried for his well-being. I'd hate to see him punch-drunk.

Exactly. He should fight older fighters like himself though.

I agree.. but the problem is, will he go out with a win? Or will a win make him believe that he can go on to bigger and better wins?

If he wanted to go out with a win, he had the perfect opportunity after the Lacy fight.

word!!!!....Roy has ALOT of pride....maybe too much at this point...don't wanna see Roy lose again...hope he win and call it a day....HBO should give him Max and Larry's job...let a fighter interview a fighter after a fight because they know the feeling of being in the ring and having not only to work physically but MENTALLY.....don't need Max or Larry coming through with weird questions.....dudes sound like district attorneys in there lmao...anyway, Roy is the man to take their job....I hope he wins though...thats the important thing....gotta get that "W" so he can walk off like the "G" or better yet the "OG" he is....dude is the GOAT in my eys....my eyes didn't witness Ray Robinson, Pepp and those dudes....so it is what it is!!
