Have Argentine boxing done anything deserving of tradition? Huh. Monzon and Loche?

How about Pascual Perez, the best flyweight during the 50's, champ for 6 years. One of the best fly weight of all time.

How about Galindez, champion for 5 years at the light heavy weight division.

How about Oscar Bonavena, the best Latin heavy weight of all time. And don't tell me it was that bum Ruiz, because Ruiz couldn't carry Bonavena's trunks.

And there have been many more Argentine fighters who have been great champs.

So, I am not sure you really know too much about the sport with comments like that.

Fres Oquendo was better than Ruiz, even though he lost their fight. And latin heavyweight of all time was cuban Teofilo Stevenson. Who the hell is Oscar Benavena? Considering theres no real latin champ, I bet you're gonna say he lost a tough fight, or got robbed against a great boxer. If thats the case then Jose Basora>Carlos Monzon as the best latin middleweight for drawing against Sugar Ray Robinson in his prime and beating Jake LaMotta.

Naming fighters who where decent enough to last 5 years as champs fighting bums doesnt mean they are good/great.

I forgot about Pascal, he was actually decent though nothing spectacular. He fought in a time where only the asians where decent, mexican boxing and rican boxing didnt exist yet in the lower weights.

          Mexican boxing>>>>>>>>>argentinian boxing.

We have a contender with 20 fights that almost beat Narvaez in his hometown, so I dont know how much better argentinian boxing is than Puerto Rico.

They're best fighter right now is the spaniard Sergio Martinez, who beat an overrated Paul Williams and got humiliated in his last fight by a no name fighter.

He's a glorified champ, who is really just as good as Cintron.

Reality is a washed up Cotto>>>>any argentinian champ active in boxing.

I doubt you'd find many who agree that Cotto would beat Martinez.

Martinez is naturally bigger, its like saying you'd doubt Narvaez could beat Juanma.

Its pretty obvoius who wins the fight. That said Cotto's resume>>>>>Martinez's.

And Cotto is the younger of the two.

Did you just ask who Bonavena is? Stevenson never even fought pro...LOL

Holy **** you got destroyed. For your info Puerto Rico has had 42 boxing world champs all time and Argentina has had 37, so how can PR have a tradition and Argentina doesn't?

Thats an easy answer, we have more records, we actually have triple division champs(six to be exact) with just 42 champs, we have at least one champion in 16 divisions(all 17 counting Ruiz). Those are stats of Puerto Rico.

Individually of course we could mention more.

                  How will you defend Argentina?

The fact that you just researched Oscar Bonavena shows that you have limited boxing knowledge.

And losing to the greatest heavy weight of all time in a 15 round fight is better than going life and death against an ancient Holyfield.

But get this, Bonavena also fought Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier, and the best heavy weight of the 70's. Which, if you knew anything about boxing, was the best era for heavy weight boxing in history.

The fact that you looked it up tells me you didn't watch the fight, if you saw the fight between Bonavena and Ali you'll see how much trouble Bonavena gave Ali during the fight.

Again, the fact that you didn't even know who Bonavena shows that you don't know jack. And if you don't know jack, its best to keep your mouth shut and adore your beloved P.R. fighters.
