i don't know their exact measurements but just looking at them separately , maidana to me is the bigger fighter.

maidana to me looks like a welterweight who cuts to make 140.

rios to me looks like the average modern lightweight.


you gotta remember maidana has been fighting some huge 140 fighters.

and he didn't give up much size to them in their fights.

I never really thought of him like that... I always thought he was kind of tall, but then again boxers who I think are tall turn out to be shorter in reality.
As for Ortiz I can agree with that... because that mofo was struggling to make his 147 weight and came in 164 or something... 162+ for both WW bouts.

fight night weights and weigh in weights isn't everything.

2 people can weigh the same and not be the same size.

plus fight night weights are unofficial. sometimes people weigh themselves wearing clothes and shoes.


just because rios came in 150-151 or whatever in a fight doesn't automatically mean he's bigger because maidana came in at 149 in a fight.

hell khan came in at 149 too. doesn't mean rios is bigger than khan.

I would bet on Rios. He's a more complete fighter-boxer, good defence, and that Mexican heart and will power. Plus if he carries that power with him moving up in weight, it's a + for him.
Maidana, though i like him, is too hitable, and Rios is fast and has good power. If the fight happens, if anybody wants to bet on Rios loosing, pm me.
