This has probably been covered but how many think gloves where a decisive factor in this fight? IMO if Jorge Linares wore Reyes he would have stopped Antonio DeMarco.
Jorge Linares vs. Antonio DeMarco glove selection

yeah that is true... he does have a pretty beastly chin... but everlast gloves, from experience, are such powder puff mitts in comparison. I hurt my hands hitting with em. but the force translated is beastly! I just thought it might have made a hige difference in the fight. edwin valera was wearing reyes when he fought de marco. butthen valero punches like a mule!Comment

Linares shouldn't have worn Pink colored gloves. I did some checking and it came out that boxers who wore Pink gloves on fight night usually lost their fights.
There are of course fighters who won with Pink gloves like Floyd Mayweather Jr. but the majority of fighters losses their fights. I think Pink gloves are bad luck in terms of color worn.
Red and black are exceptions since these two colors have been part of boxing history for the longest times.
Green gloves and yellow gloves seem to be winner gloves then again I only fact checked like 20 fighters that I like and follow.Comment

actually, i'm certain there are two and i'm pretty sure there are three different types of everlast gloves used in pro fights
the boxer's glove (pretty sure that's what linares was wearing, not sure of the name. lots of padding on the knuckles)
the MX, which is for punchers (maidana uses these sometimes. loose padding and i believe different // softer/less stiff leather that doesnt hold its form as well and leads to cuts)
and one that is a bit more classic (for both)
and of course demarco was in reyes, the punchers glove
gloves do make a huge difference. huge. somtimes they'll even tell you what a guy is looking to do out there (in demarcos case he was looking to win via stoppage on a goldenboy card against a better boxer with faster hands and feet)
i have no doubts that maidana would have ripped up morales face to a greater degree if he had is MX on, as much as that would have ******. and perhaps maidana would have gotten more hurt and or busted up if he wasnt taking punches from morales in winning gloves.
i've never had my hand in a winning glove to hit anything but i've heard they are even more padded//protective than grant
i've owned plenty of grant gloves and i can tell you from experience that they hold form and provide more padding on and for the knuckles than most other gloves.Comment

winnings gloves feel super light but they do have more padding over the knuckles than reyes or the mx everlast gloves. The guy at the winning store here in cali told me that they winning started making their fight gloves more compact cuz the Japanese wanted more kos in their boxing. I dont think linares would have stopped demarco with any glove.Comment

technically three we sell but 4 available for fighters
Protex3
1910
MX
Classic
Linares had the classic pink in honor of his friend and mentor Robert Diaz who is a cancer survivor
that's our classic and it's hand made in the USthe boxer's glove (pretty sure that's what linares was wearing, not sure of the name. lots of padding on the knuckles)
Brandon Riosthe MX, which is for punchers (maidana uses these sometimes. loose padding and i believe different // softer/less stiff leather that doesnt hold its form as well and leads to cuts)
Nonito Donaire
Lucian Bute
Miguel Cotto
Mikey Garcia
Marcos Maidana
Mercito Gesta
all wear the MX
made in Mexico it's a loose sticky leather with a combo of horsehair and foam a pure puncher's glove
he's been in our MX beforeand of course demarco was in reyes, the punchers glove
agreed glove selection IMO is fairly vital but then again I am fairly biased about that lolgloves do make a huge difference. huge. somtimes they'll even tell you what a guy is looking to do out there (in demarcos case he was looking to win via stoppage on a goldenboy card against a better boxer with faster hands and feet)
Morales states in every fight that he AND his opponent have to wear Winning gloves or no fight. Marcos was pissed because he loves the MX now but agreed in order to make the fighti have no doubts that maidana would have ripped up morales face to a greater degree if he had is MX on, as much as that would have ******. and perhaps maidana would have gotten more hurt and or busted up if he wasnt taking punches from morales in winning gloves.
Winning's foam is a lot like our Protex3 very high density but light for maximum protectioni've never had my hand in a winning glove to hit anything but i've heard they are even more padded//protective than grant
the complaint I get about their and our classic fight glove is that after a few rounds they get squishy and lose impact easilyi've owned plenty of grant gloves and i can tell you from experience that they hold form and provide more padding on and for the knuckles than most other gloves.Comment
