I remember making a thread about it a while ago. I had the same vibe, everyone disagreed.. i'll see if I can find it. They were talking about a different subject.

    I found it -

Talk about anything boxing related here. Where the boxing discussion is always Non Stop!

Tell me what you think about that.

    Video -

"at 3:30 you can clearly see the old Mike starting to slip up. He got a little riled up there. Watch, tell me if anyone else notices the instant personality flip.

Also, this kid interviewing him is a tool and gets nervous as hell throughout the rest of the video."

    5:30 is priceless too LOL.

I remembered that thread; I didn't recall you made that one, too. I posted a reply to it. Looking at the original video again, I got more of a sense that the interviewer became a little uncomfortable after Tyson reacted negatively to the line of questioning. The interview with the Pacquiao comments seemed to display a more irritable Tyson. Maybe he was getting tired of being asked so many questions. lol

People find Mike Tyson fascinating for many reasons. Let's be honest, no one would give a damn about him if he wasn't famous. So fame is the most vital ingredient. From then on, the reasons branch out. For me, what makes Tyson interesting as a subject is that he's very openly self-effacing. Most people have demons, but hardly anyone ever lets on. Tyson drags all that stuff out for all the world to see. This tendency is riveting in and of itself. One moment Tyson is repulsive, the next he's pathetic. The obvious torment he feels is what makes us sympathetic and coming back for more.

So true. It's always made me wonder when it came to mike, though. Most people LOVE reliving their past glories, telling the stories for a fee or a little extra exposure. It's been the exact opposite with mike. He has serious discomfort reliving his past and I doubt he'd even sign a boxing glove for you today, at this point. He really does want to look forward and only forward now. I commend that, though I find it bizarre when you compare it to most famous people.

Accurate observations. At the risk of playing armchair psychologist, I'd say that anything connected to his painful history, even past glories, makes Tyson cringe. He's evolved and become uncomfortable with his past. But Tyson can't get over his previous transgressions. He clearly has deep regrets, to the point of self-loathing.

Mike Tyson is a tormented soul. As I pointed out before, it makes him sympathetic. It's difficult for one human being to watch another suffer so, despite any heinous acts they may have committed. Tyson needs forgiveness, perhaps no more from anyone than himself....
