I'm confused about why Mart has kept talking like Floyd wants the fight and is negotiations all this time, but all that's really happened is a mailed out offer.
Martinez: "We made an offer, I would be fighting Mayweather in Las Vegas next year"

He said he walks around at 174 and the offered weight was 152 and that he would hydrate about 5 pounds on fight night.thats not bad he feels comfortable. Also that the fight would be in 2012 in las vegas.Last edited by boxing2106; 10-18-2011, 01:23 AM.Comment

Mart is digging his own grave if he didn't try to get 154 firstComment

this is all moot since floyd is getting locked up
he said himself that hes spent millions on lawyers and since they still havnt settled it or got it thrown out than its pretty obvious hes gonna do timeComment

Im assuming in may like that martinez has more time to adjust to the weight.and floyd settles his legal issues.Ive lost alot of respect for floyd man hes trying to beat pac outside the ring and it just doesnt work like that.hes pulling a sugar ray and waiting for him to slow down,i believe floyd can beat him but i dont think he believes that, hes indenial.Comment

I doubt it, Mayweather's been selecting his opponents, fighting Martinez would be a step up in competition. He's taking a big gamble if the fight gets made and Floyd doesn't gamble his record, he doesn't want to let go of his "0". Floyd will never fight a real competition. So the chances of this fight getting done is "0" just like his record.Comment

Yeah, that's probably more like it.
If Floyd takes this fight at 154lbs, he's gotta' deserve some degree of credit. Sergio is way bigger than him. And extremely talented. I honestly think this fight could be for p4p #1. Manny hasn't taken this type of fight in a while.
Therefore, the winner of this one would have to be p4p #1.
Because at the end of the day, both of these guys are top 3 p4p. (At least.)
And since Manny isn't taking tough fights these days, I'd say the winner is automatically p4p #1. (Assuming the fight is at 154lbs. Below that, I think Floyd has an advantage.)
Let's just hope this fight gets made. Outside of Floyd/Pacman, it's probably the fight I'd most like to see.Comment
