How are Maidana and Mayorga able to hit and hurt opponents when their feet arent set?

I swear it's one of the weirdest things

and these two are the best at it!

And what is it..upper body strength or what, I don't know.

Their feet don't have to be set, they can hit and hurt you on the run charging at you lol!

    Looks odd but it's effective.

Boxing is mental sport too, I'm sure fighters who go in that ring believing they can hurt another opponent can swing for the fences. They also might be moving their upper body in a manner that produces good punches even if they might be doing something wrong with their footwork.

          Footwork is overrated.

Not really, Manny's footwork has improved greatly over the years. It's what made him great as he is now adays.

I was going to say the same thing. Footwork is essential to becoming a great fighter. Maidana and Mayorga have had their moments but are not great fighters.

they're naturally heavy handed so they don't need to place the punch all the way correctly because it's gonna have power either way
