Very odd choice putting the fight at Staples, and the results showed that.

Not bad, right? Nice little payday for both fighters specially for a short night. Bernarda doesn't even deserve $10 though.

Once the fight was announced for the Staples Center, any one with half a brain cell could see it was gonna bomb at the gate. Two black, East Coast fighters, fighting in the West Coast? LOL.

Although I bought the PPV, I will laugh when the numbers come out. It will show what a mistake it was to put it on PPV+Staples center. Just a big fail in GBP/Shaw/HBO's part. Coulda had well over 500k views on HBO WCB, possibly over million considering Hopkins-Pascal I and II drew over 2 million HBO viewers.

This is gonna be the norm, people are getting tired of all this bull**** fights, and I hope these promoters see this and fix the problem of putting B.A.D. and Shobox cards on PPV.

Hopkins and Dawson, two boring black Americans who can't draw flies.

175 is the weakest division in boxing.

Vitali Klitschko TKO 10 Chris Arreola at Staples Center was a SELL OUT and it was the MOST WATCHED/HIGHEST RATED HBO fight of 2009.

NATION OF DOMINATIN! 175 is strong division - Hopkins, Dawson, Pascal, Shumenov, Cloud, Cleverly (although looked poor against bellew), ISMAYL SILAKH, Erdei!

Then you got froch likely moving up.

This fight should have been in Atlantic City at the Boardwalk Hall. It would have made more sense.

Hopkins popularity is in the east coast. Would have made more sense to fight in Atlantic City. Tho, is it New Jersey that takes a ridiculous paycut from a fighter? I think thats the main reason fighters don't like fighting in Atlantic City anymore. The state of Jersey is ruining boxing by stealing money from boxers.

The thing with this is, I agree it would have gotten more fans to see it but I think from a payday aspect Hopkins and Dawson didn't agree that it made sense. The State of New Jersey steals money from Boxers, by taking a big cut of their money. Boxers don't like fighting in Atlantic City because of this. And its a real shame seeing how Atlantic City is a big fight arena but is losing business because they tax too much.
