Jacobs beat Ishe Smith before the Pirog fight.

I think he was ranked #1 by the WBC before the Pirog fight.

Zbik was never fought anyone before the Chavez fight. Though he was the Interim champion.

zbik was probably ranked higher, but pirog has been there longer and looked better.

he (chavez jr) arguably lost to rowland and zbik (not a great argument but they were both very close fights).

Chavez Jr also has a win over Carlos Molina, who's ranked #6 at jr middleweight. I could only find the first Molina fight online where he got a draw, but it was an obvious gift draw because I couldn't find a single round to give to Chavez. Molina was dominating. Haven't seen the second one where Chavez won, but I could only assume that was a gift decision as well. (can't be sure though)
