Jorge is good its just that he doesn't put anything in those punches. He needs to put some power in those shots. You could just see Demarco slowly closing in on him as the fight went on because Linares punches wasn't doing ****.

that tells you skills alone is not enough to win fights. it's a combination of many things actually.

something i didnt apreciate was how hbo team was prasing linares, but when he lost they didnt give too much credit to de marco but kinda implied the it was because the cuts...if someone is as good as the commentators said linares is,de marco is even better...no?

Mannnnn, I pegged Linares as the only guy to beat Rios in the LW division.

so you are saying de marco's punches had nothing to do with it?.....the fight was stop because he wasnt defending the much harder punches de marco was throwing..I dont understand how people dont give credit to de marco....he won and won fair..the cuts werent fouls, they were punches too..so the cuts count as well....!

              Many great fighter lose early.

How Linares recovers from this will show if he's got what it takes to be something special.

This was the first time I've seen Linares fight and I have to say I am very impressed. He looked absolutely sexy with that beard, pink outfit and his amazing boxing skills.

Why doesn't Roach teach his fighters to take a knee to recover?

He's one of the most skilled fighters in the world but he needs to work on his defense and tactics, he needs to know when to exchange and when to box and move.

His boxing IQ, he needs to learn how to pick his spots better and stick to whats working. That fight could have easily been his.
