I dont know if Cleverley will ever be truly elite. Its too soon for him to fight Hopkins or Dawson. Shumenov is a very winnable fight though.
He won't, doesnt have the skill or power but he is a very good fighter, can grab a couple of titles and have a very good career nonetheless
plus he's entertaining, and at the end of the day thats what its all about isnt it, sometimes we get a bit confused as fans and think anything less than p4p material isnt good enough
If cleverly fought Bellew in a rematch he would win easy, you could tell he as a bit cautious of ton's power but he took his best shot easy enough so Cleverly would now win a very wide UD or could even stop him in the later rounds, think Nathan should fight this Shumanov havent seen him box but as everyone has said it is a winnable fight and people will sit up and take notice if he has two belts...
lol you people continue to underestimate Shumenov.
I don't think anyone underestimate him but he's clearly not as good as some people thought he was. A couple of years ago he was extremely overrated. He was supposed to run the LHW division then he ran into Gabriel Campillo lost the first fight and then clearly lost the rematch but somehow got the decision.
We still don't know how good Cleverly is but I don't think he's ready for someone like Dawson. Not saying he'd beat Shumenov but that's an an easier opponent and a winnable fight. Dawson would be too much.
