So Hopkins using dirty tactics from the very first punch he threw isn't mentally weak, but Dawson responding to it is mentally weak? Why is Hopkins allowed to fight dirty but someone fighting fire with fire is mentally weak?

He flipped out because he's pissed off. This was a fight he's been trying to get for years, and when he does, this bullsh** happens. Single leg takedown my ass, Hopkins was all over his back, he lifted him with nothing but his shoulder. Dawson didn't put a glove on Hopkins's leg until both of Hopkins's feet were off the ground.

Because Dawson was out of character. It isn't his way.

And YES single leg take down.

Dawson wasnt doing isht to hopkins so u haters need to stop. If u saw the fight dawson was already reaching and getting slopy. Hopkins never been stoped and he takes pride in that so if the ref wouldve told hopkins listen im gonna stop the fight he wouldve got up and fought. He didnt know it was the refs fault and this will be overturned.

He put his glove behind Hopkins's right leg after both feet were already off the ground. He lifted him off the ground to begin with using nothing but his shoulder.

I loved what Chad did, because Hopkins made it very clear from the first punch/headbutt he threw in the fight that he was going to fight as dirty as the ref allowed, and Dawson simply responded to the parameters Hopkins set.

Bunch of whining because Hopkins finally got what he deserved after years of fighting dirty and faking low blows and injuries.

Damn, the opinion about this fight is so polarizing.

Honestly, if Hopkins was 10 years younger he would be better off then again probably not.

I have a feeling that if this had played out the opposite way, people would have seen it very differently. Chad would have been a quitter and B-Hop would have been using a crafty trick.

The fight had started in a slightly dirty manner, B-Hop leaned on Chad, Chad shoved him off...that's the way it goes. It will probably be over-turned, but what happened was fine.

you could see hopkins tactics progressing as the fight went on, but chad was standing his ground, and surprising to me was he was cutting off the ring on hopkins pretty good...everybody knows hopkins pet punch is the right hand followed by the head, but dawson was making him miss...i think hopkins dove on dawson's back out of frustration, and tried to milk the fall for a points deduction...

Whether Hopkins quit or not, Dawson kinda brought this upon himself.

There is a risk you will injure your opponent when you slam him to the ground. You just can't do this in the most important fight of your life.

Dawson should have kept his cool and just gone about his business instead of taking that ''I ain't taking no **** from dirty Popkins'' attitude. Dawson would have won comfortably on the cards or scored a KO.

Dawson was stalking using his jab, even a double jab, which was exactly what he had to do
