Filipino Denver Cuello demolished Mexico's Carlos Perez at 1:37 of the first round at the International Convention Centre in Quintana Roo. Cuello (# 2 WBC) and Perez (# 5 WBC) fought for the WBC's silver strawweight title. After taking a few punches to the head and body, Perez went down for the count. Cuello raised his record to 29 wins (19 KOs), 4 defeats and 6 draws. Perez dropped to 12 wins (8 KOs), 3 losses and 3 draws.
